The Direct Support Professional Role

At Community Enhanced Living Solutions LLC, the role of a Direct Support Professional extends far beyond routine caregiving responsibilities. DSPs at CELS work closely with individuals in a person-centered environment, supporting daily living activities, encouraging personal development, promoting emotional well-being, and fostering safe and meaningful community engagement.

Key responsibilities may include assisting individuals with individualized daily living routines, supporting community participation and transportation needs, maintaining accurate medication administration and documentation procedures, implementing approved behavioral and support plans, and ensuring the highest standards of confidentiality, respect, safety, and professional ethics.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • βœ” VHigh school diploma or equivalent educational credential
  • βœ” Strong interpersonal communication and compassionate listening abilities
  • βœ” VDemonstrated emotional maturity, professionalism, and respect for individual dignity
  • βœ” Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • βœ” CSuccessful completion of background screening and criminal record verification requirements
  • βœ” Willingness to complete comprehensive paid orientation, training, and ongoing professional development programs
  • βœ” Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary and person-centered care environment
